Thank you for an amazing 16 days. Thank you for doing us proud. Thank you for you efforts and sportsmanship. Thank you for never giving up.

After an amazing 16 days the olympics are over. It was an action packed Olympics this year from Stephanie Rices first gold medal in the pool to Matthew Mitcham’s gold in the diving. It is fair to say that in one of the toughest olympics in a long time, our Aussie athletes did us all proud finishing 6th in the medal tally with a total of 46 medals including 14 gold, 15 silver, and 17 bronze.

There were some amazing moments and some surprizing wins for Australia including: Steven Hooker’s Gold in the Pole Vault, Sally McLellan’s Silver in the hurdles, Jared Tallent’s Silver and Bronze in the 50k and 20k Walk. Anna Meares Silver in the cycling and of course Stephanie Rice in the pool.

Congratulations to all of our Athletes who put in 100% in everything that they did, you’re an inspiration to all of us. Thanks for the memories and we’ll see you in London in 2012.

I have to say that Sally McLellan’s fantastic silver medal performance at the Bird’s Nest is my favourite winning moment of the olympics so far!!

I saw the race live and just loved how she ran her heart out and then looked over as she crossed the line to realise that she was in with a medal chance.

Not only was Sally the first Australian woman to make the hurdles finals since the 84 olympics but she managed to pick up a well deserved silver medal in a respectable time of 12.64s.

She said she knew she had clinched second place as soon as she crossed the line.

“I knew I got silver, I couldn’t believe how long it took to get on the scoreboard,” she said.

“I’ve just had the most amazing and incredible year ever and to top it off with a silver medal at the Olympic Games as a 21-year-old …”

To top off her fantastic performance, I just loved her reaction when talking to Channel 7…

LOVE YOUR WORK!!! : )

When Sydney man Kyle McCrae walked into his backyard two and half years ago to discover his beloved puppy Tyson had been stolen, he held little hope he would see his pet again. So the phone call he received yesterday from RSPCA staff in Malaga came as a shocking yet welcome surprise.

Tyson, renamed Jeffery, had been surrendered to the RSPCA and spokesman Richard Barry said a microchip scan discovered that Jeffrey was on a stolen dog list and had been for two and a half years.

Mr McCrae said he could not believe Tyson had been found and arranged to fly him back home to Sydney.

“When he first saw me he was a bit shy and unsure,” he said.“He remembered the lounge as soon as he walked in (the house) – he jumped straight on the couch.”

Despite being double the size he was when he was stolen, not much about Tyson has changed over the years.

However Tyson will have to adjust to one change, Mr McCrae now has a girlfriend who Tyson will have to compete for attention with.

FORMER politician Pauline Hanson has been approached to do a reality television show about a single woman searching for love.

After shoe-shuffling her way through Dancing With The Stars in 2004, Pauline Hanson, could be set for a return to reality TV as a single woman searching for love.

The former politician confirmed she has been “casually” approached by Channel Seven to star in her own dating show in the tradition of Nine’s mega-hit A Farmer Wants A Wife.

No doubt based on a similar format we hope that Pauline is lucky in love and finds the man of her dreams.
